Christ Covenant School - Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, and the supreme authority for faith and life.

2. We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and eternal.

3. We believe that man was created by God and in the image of God, that he sinned against God's law and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death.

4. We believe that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are in need of the saving blood of Jesus in order to be reconciled to God.

5. We believe that Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and thus is fully God and fully man.

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus died on the cross, according to scripture, and for our sins, as our substitute, and that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood.

7. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His personal and visible return to this earth.

8. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, become children of God, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, progressively becoming more Christlike in thought, word, and action, and are eternally secure.

9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all persons, judgment to come, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

10. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders reflect the image and nature of God.

11. We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and woman who are married to each other.

I also authorize the school to thoroughly investigate my work records and evaluations, my education preparation, and other matters related to my suitability for the position.

I authorize references and my former employers to disclose to the school any and all employment records, performance reviews, letters, reports, and other information related to my life and employment, without giving me prior notice of such disclosure. In addition, I hereby release the school, my former employers, references, and all other parties from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities arising out of or in any way related to such investigation or disclosure. I waive the right to ever personally view any references given to the school.

Since I will be working with children, I understand that I must submit to a thorough background check with federal and/or state authorities. I agree to fully cooperate in providing and recording as many sets of my fingerprints as are necessary for such an investigation. I authorize the school to conduct a criminal records check. I understand and agree that any offer of employment that I may receive from the school is conditioned upon that receipt of background information, including criminal background information. The school may refuse employment or terminate conditional employment if the school deems any background information unfavorable or that it could reflect adversely on the school or on me as a Christian role model.
